Condemnation of French Bill Banning Muslim Women from Wearing Hijab
CMPJ condemns the recent passing of the French bill to ban Muslim women from attending their children's school trips while wearing the hijab. This is yet another act by the French government to discriminate against Muslim women. Canada is not immune from this threat to freedom of religion and expression. Quebec’s Bill 21 is a violation of this fundamental right.
We stand with Muslim women and others in France who are facing this oppression and call on the Canadian government to do so as well.
